Growing up in Alabama, Indiana and Texas, Billy C. Farlow drew his inspiration from both black and white musicians. In his early teens he learned to play guitar and harmonica. After moving to Detroit in the early 60s, he began hanging out and jamming with blues artists. In the fall of 1966, he formed his first band. In the early seventies he became famous with California’s hippie-cult band, Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen.
In the mid-1980's Billy C. relocated to the South where he recorded five CD's of original songs over a 12-year period for various labels. He has released his first album on CrossCut Records in 2011.
